    Bluesky released starter packs on June 26, 2024. They are personalized invites that allow users to bring people directly into your slice of Bluesky!

    Bluesky, the decentralized social media platform, introduced starter packs on June 26, 2024, aiming to personalize user experiences and make it easier for communities to grow. They let users bring friends directly into their customized Bluesky environment.

    What’s in a Bluesky Starter Pack?#

    A Bluesky starter pack can include the following:

    • Custom feeds: On Bluesky, you can set any algorithm or topic as your home timeline.
    • Recommended follows: Add your favorite accounts and encourage new users to follow them.

    As of September 2026:

    • Starter packs show up in search, in the “Starter Packs” tab. At launch they didn’t, and a link or an embed preview was the only way in.
    • Starter packs can recommend up to 500 people and up to 3 custom feeds. The limit was 150 people at launch. New users will automatically have Following and Discover pinned.

    We followed the tutorial in Bluesky’s blog post. You don’t need it, though. Creating a starter pack from the interface is quite easy and intuitive.
